🐾 PawMD Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026  ·  Effective for all PawMD Beta users

Please read this before using PawMD.

PawMD is a triage guidance tool, not a veterinary medical service. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or replace professional veterinary care. If your dog is in distress, contact an emergency veterinarian immediately — do not wait for an AI response.

1. Who We Are

PawMD ("we," "us," or "our") is a beta-stage software product that provides AI-assisted dog symptom triage guidance. By accessing or using PawMD at any URL where this service is hosted ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What PawMD Is — and Is Not

PawMD provides general triage guidance based on information you provide. It is designed to help you make a more informed decision about the urgency of a veterinary visit. It is expressly not:

No veterinarian-client-patient relationship is created by your use of PawMD. The AI responses you receive are informational only and should not be treated as veterinary advice.

3. Beta Software

PawMD is currently in beta. This means the Service is still under active development, may contain bugs or inaccuracies, and is provided as-is without any warranty of any kind — express or implied. Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly. We appreciate your patience and feedback as we improve the product.

4. Your Responsibilities

By using PawMD, you agree to:

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PawMD and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to harm to your pet, veterinary costs, or emotional distress — arising from your use of or reliance on this Service.

The triage recommendations provided by PawMD are based on the information you supply and the capabilities of AI at the time of your session. AI can be wrong. We strongly encourage you to exercise your own judgment and consult a licensed veterinarian for any health concern.

6. Your Data

Your dog's profile and session history are stored in your browser's local storage — they remain on your device and are not transmitted to our servers (with the exception of conversation content sent to our AI provider to generate responses, and your email address if you choose to request an email receipt). See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding associated with PawMD — including the name, logo, and interface — are the property of PawMD and its operators. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

8. Third-Party Services

PawMD uses the Anthropic Claude API to generate AI responses. Your conversation content is processed by Anthropic in accordance with their own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for Anthropic's data practices. PawMD may also use Resend to deliver email receipts when you request them.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the Service after any update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We recommend checking this page periodically.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from your use of PawMD shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.

These Terms were written to be readable by real people, not just lawyers. That said, if you have a specific legal concern, please consult a qualified attorney — we are a small beta product and these Terms may not cover every situation.
